THE MOON IS OPEN is an AI and hybrid commercial production company based in Barcelona, Spain. We produce cinematic commercials for advertising and communications agencies and brands, from concept development to final delivery.
What is hybrid commercial production?
Hybrid commercial production combines generative AI with live-action footage, VFX, and postproduction. We choose the approach shot by shot, based on the creative brief and what each scene needs.
Can an AI commercial match the quality of a traditional shoot?
It can, depending on the concept and the demands of each shot. We assess performance, visual continuity, editing, and sound against filmmaking standards, using live action where it better serves the result.
What formats do you deliver?
We deliver in 16:9, 2.35:1, 9:16, 4:5, and 1:1, at up to 4K, with cutdowns for cinema, TV, digital, and social. Formats and deliverables are defined around the campaign brief.
How long does an AI commercial take to produce?
Timing depends on the film’s length, shot complexity, review rounds, and deliverables. AI-generated sequences can reduce reliance on locations, weather, and shoot dates. Hybrid projects also include live-action scheduling, so each timeline is planned around the brief.
Do you work with agencies and brands outside Spain?
Yes. Based in Barcelona, we work with agencies and brands worldwide, in English or Spanish. Collaboration can be remote or on location, depending on the production.
Do you also shoot live action?
Yes. We have a background in live-action film and commercial production, and combine live action with generative AI when it is the right approach for the brief.
